Book signing with Jason LeFebvre

Our very own Jason Lefebvre, former preschool paraprofessional, is coming back to share his new book, Too Much Glue, Wednesday, December 4th at 6:30 p.m.

Jason will talk about the process of writing the book, read the book and then sign copies.

All are welcome to join us for this event.  If you own the book, bring it.  If you'd like to order a book, we are coordinating with Odyssey Bookshop.  Order forms will be sent home this week.  Orders are due Friday, November 8th to allow time for book distribution.

Cash Raffle Wrap Up

Thank you to all those who bought or sold tickets for this year's Preschool Cash Raffle!

With your help, we raised over $1500. for the preschool! 

These proceeds go towards offering enrichment programming such as the Silliest Kind of Spooky Story teller, our Spring Family Fun night, and the fall Ice Cream Social.  The money is also used to support the preschool teachers in the classroom with supplies, materials, and equipment.

Halloween Story Time

There will be a special preschool story time this Tuesday, October 29th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwin Library. 

 

There will be stories, songs, snacks, arts and crafts and games!  It's all free, and the little ones can wear their costumes (I suppose adults could too...). 

 

It's all free and geared toward preschoolers and toddlers, so bring your crew and have a blast!

Welcome to a new year!

We hope you had a wonderful summer vacation!  FoHP has been busy getting ready for another great year of preschool events!

 

First up - the Preschool Ice Cream Social!  Come play with your new preschool friends and meet other preschool families.  Saturday, September 14th from 12:30 - 2 p.m. at the Hadley Elementary Playground.  This event is free for preschool families. 

 

Our first meeting will take place Thursday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m. in the Hadley Elementary School library.  Please join us!  It's a great way to get involved, give back to the preschool, and meet other preschool parents (and we'll have some treats there, too!). 

 

If you know of new preschool families, please share this blog with them so they can keep up with all the fun preschool events we have planned!

The Hadley Goodwin Memorial Library needs you!  As part of our long-range planning process, the Goodwin Library is conducting a community survey and we are hoping you will take 5 minutes to complete it now. All respondents who provide contact information will be eligible for one of 5 prizes of a $25 gift card to Barnes and Noble. Regardless of whether you provide your contact information or not, all responses will be kept strictly confidential and your individual responses will never be linked to your name. Children's Festival

This Saturday, April 13 from 10 - 12 p.m.,

there will be a Children's Festival at Jackson Street School in Northampton. 

 

The flyer says they'll have "brain building games and activities for young children and their families.  Visit a fire truck.  Play on the playground.  Create art.  Tumble on mats.  Rain or shine."

Family Fun Night

 

 

Mark your calendars for a night of fun!

 

Friends of Hadley Preschool is sponsoring our annual Family Fun Night at Universal Kids in Northampton Friday, March 22nd from 6-8 p.m.

 

This night is free for preschoolers and their families (siblings up to kindergarten).  We'll pay for admission and pizza.  We will ask families to bring something to share.

We hope you enjoyed a long, snowy vacation with your families and are now full of renewed energy for the new year.

How about channeling some of that energy into volunteering for the preschool?  We are getting ready to plan our big spring fundraiser, the silent auction.  The money we raise goes towards supplies, scholarships, events (ice cream social, storyteller, Family Fun Night), and the rainy day fund, to name a few.  If you have enjoyed any of these events (all free to preschool families!), please consider helping out.  The more, the merrier! 

We need people to brainstorm, solicit donations, collect donations, and organize donations.  Some of these jobs require in person contact, and some can be done from home.  If you think you want to lend a hand, email us at friendsofhadleypreschool@gmail.com and let us know how you would like to participate.  No amount is too little or big!

Our next meeting will take place Thursday, January 10th at 6:30 p.m. at Panera in Hadley.  Come for dinner and chat with other preschool parents.  We will start our business around 7 p.m.
